Uman Educational Center

What a promise! And because of it, Rebbe Nachman’s followers throughout the centuries have made every effort to journey to Uman to pray at his gravesite. On Rosh HaShanah, the day Rebbe Nachman urged his followers to make a special effort to be with him, tens of thousands of people from around the world gather to pray, to sing, and to be part of the true Breslov experience.

For English-speakers, this life-altering journey has been made so much easier by the pioneering efforts of the Breslov Research Institute (BRI). In 2001 we established our humble base of operations in Uman, which we fondly call the “Ritz-Carton.” Here first-time Uman-goers have a “relatively” comfortable place to stay, while sharing their own miraculous stories that brought them to the Rebbe.

To our satisfaction, our program has been met with huge success. Indeed, we have completely outgrown our Ritz-Carton. We are pleased to announce that this Rosh HaShanah, with your help, we can inaugurate the brand-new Breslov Research Institute Uman Educational Center!

The BRI Uman Educational Center will provide thousands of English-speakers with incredible Torah lessons and prayer services, along with a comfortable bed and a warm meal in a truly exhilarating and friendly spiritual environment. The building will also be used throughout the year for BRI-led non-Rosh HaShanah retreats in Uman, as well as host pilgrims from around the world.

Spend a weekend of learning, singing and shmoozing with Reb Chaim Kramer, a world-renowned kumsitz singer, and our other building committee members. We will visit the graves of the Baal Shem Tov, Reb Levi Yitzchok of Berdichev, and Reb Noson, and spend an inspiring Shabbos together with Rebbe Nachman in Uman.*

*If you cannot make our Executive Uman Retreat, you will be invited to be our guest in Uman on Rosh HaShanah. We will provide you with sleeping accommodations, meals, a synagogue seat, and a mikvah ticket.
