A Giver or a Receiver?

Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Bender Z”L, one of the prominent leaders of Breslov in the previous generation, used to selflessly distribute Maot Chitim every year to needy Breslov Chassidim in Jerusalem.
Rabbi Bender once said to his dear friend, Rabbi Yitzchak Gelbach Z”L—who was known as a man of integrity and a true servant of Hashem, though he lived with great financial difficulty, “I don’t see your name on the list to receive assistance for Pesach.”
He replied, “I don’t want to receive.”
Rabbi Bender answered him: “Every person is either a giver or a receiver—there’s no third category.” And indeed, despite his financial struggles, Rabbi Gelbach chose to be among the givers.
The situation today in Eretz Yisrael is well known—rising costs of living, growing pressure on religious life, and people doing whatever they can just to survive. At BRI, we want to help them—through you.
Please, do whatever you can to be on the side of the givers.
Today is our chance—through you—to say yes to the families pleading for help.
And in this merit, may you always be among the givers—with joy, peace of mind, and a kosher and happy Pesach.
With wishes for a kosher and happy Pesach
