It is important to note that traveling to Uman is not limited to just Rosh HaShanah.

People travel to Uman the year round.
There are trips catering just to women and their special needs that takes place during many times during the year.
These trips also feature travel to other holy sites in the Ukraine such as Medzeboz (the Baal Shem Tov), Berditchov (Reb Levi Yitzchok of Berditchov), Breslov (Reb Noson), Anipoli (the Magid of Mezritch and Reb Zusia), Lizhensk (Reb Elimelekh), Shepetovka (Reb Pinchos of Koretz) and Polonnoye (the Toldos Yaakov Yosef), among others.
Conditions in Uman are such that it pays to bring along your own food for the duration of your stay. Same applies to medications. Don’t rely upon local stores (remember you probably don’t even speak the language.
You can get a cab in Kiev or Odessa airport to travel to Uman but the price could be between $100-150 depending upon how much the driver can squeeze from you for the 2.5 – 3 hour trip. There is a driver in Uman who is used by several members of Breslov Research Institute. His name is Yuri and he speaks English. His cell phone number is (country code, city code & #) 38-050-511-2761. He charges $90.00 for the one way trip Kiev-Uman and $100.00 for the one way trip Odessa-Uman (Odessa is about a half hour further than Kiev). (There are other drivers, who are cheaper, and some speak Hebrew, but we do not know their names or numbers.)
In Uman, there is security at Rebbe Nachman’s gravesite, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Drivers are available to make the rounds to other holy graves in the Ukraine and even as far away as Poland. You can negotiate on the spot.
Best wishes for a safe journey, may your prayers be accepted and answered. Just a short word of caution: “Be careful what you pray for, you just might get it!”

I would like more information on trips to the Ukraine that involve visiting the sites of the Baal Shem Tov, Rabbe Nachman, the Magid…etc. Thank you
Trips for just women are of interest to me as well, but I’m open to mixed travel.
