Dear Friends,
In less than a month, we will be celebrating Pesach, b’ezrat Hashem.
When we started the campaign at the outbreak of COVID-19, the situation was desperate; families literally didn’t have money to buy wine and matzos for the Seder!
At the time, we thought we’d raise an amount that would be enough for a few families who were in the most dire straits – but you came through in a big way. We were amazed at the stream of donations that came in! Thanks to you, we became messengers for the Kimcha D’Pischa fund that delivers the greatest assistance to Breslov chassidim. Over 300 needy families from the Breslov community in Israel received assistance, thanks to your generosity, and they were thus able to celebrate the Yom Tov in joy and plenty.
This year, the world has been stricken by rising prices, making it difficult for them to make ends meet. Unfortunately, the numbers of the poor in Israel are rising, and moreover, refugees from Uman have fled Ukraine for fear of the war, and have come to Israel with nothing more than the shirts on their backs. It’s no secret that there’s a lack of stability in the world: Covid, rising prices, the war in Ukraine… Who knows what will come next.
We’re all fearful for what lies ahead and want to feel secure. Rebbe Nachman reveals to us that the first letters of the verse צדקה תציל ממות, Charity saves from death, spell out מצ”ת. This means that the charity that Jews give for Kimcha D’Pischa has the power to save from death, and to provide security and protection from Above (Likutey Moharan I, 201).
For the third year in a row, the eyes of needy families are turned to us. We must help them; we won’t ignore them and we won’t turn anyone away. We provide for their needs gladly!
We are hereby launching this year’s Kimcha D’Pischa campaign, for 5782, on your behalf. Our goal is to reach the sum of $180,000 (about 500 families) – and we know that we’ll succeed with your help.
In the first week, we want to reach a goal of 150 needy families from the Breslov community in Yerushalayim and its environs, so that we can get organized and provide the assistance in time.
We are offering an exclusive Pesach gift for the first 150 donors who donate at least 720$ (which covers a Pesach Seder of 2 families) towards this special and important Mitzvah: A high-quality authentic leather-bound BRI English Breslov Haggadah with a warm dedication embedded on the cover.
There are many other ways to contribute to needy families. For $360, you can adopt one family and provide them with the ability to celebrate the Seder in abundance, or for $148, you can adopt a child. Needless to say, every donation, according to your means, will contribute to the success of our campaign.
With your donation, you become partners with Hakadosh Baruch Hu, making His children happy. There’s no question that Hashem will, in turn, make you happy with simchat Yom Tov, with feelings of liberation, abundance and no worries.
Wishing you the best of everything from the bottom of my heart,
Chaim Kramer
