Let Them Celebrate Pesach!

Dear most precious friends!

It’s no secret that this has been an extremely challenging year for thousands of families who have lost their livelihoods already over a year ago. Since then, their lives have been upturned, and they find themselves swinging between despair and hope, between daily survival and a desire to return to normalcy.

As believing Jews, we all anticipate and eagerly await Hashem’s miracles and the great day when He brings us the Moshiach, and redeems the Jewish people with both collective and personal salvation.

It’s no accident that the very first laws of Pesach begin with the wonderful Jewish custom of charity: We are all obligated to ensure that not a single person remains hungry on the holy festival of Pesach!

Last year, when the world was thrust into the crisis that we are still dealing with, we at the Breslov Research Institute immediately identified the hardship and suffering of families of Breslov chassidim, who even in a regular year barely make ends meet.

Rebbe Nachman revealed to us that his chassidim will never be especially well off, but that there would always be someone who would help them (oral tradition). And for this reason, we launched an emergency campaign, in order to garner for them as much support as possible.

Indeed, we succeeded in doing the impossible, bringing light and joy to some 350 families, with genuine assistance for Pesach. And we did that thanks to you! You merited to be the correct emissaries!

This year, too, we wish to ask you for your personal assistance, and to give above and beyond your ability, due to the very complex, and exceptionally challenging situation that so many families find themselves in. We call on you to be the correct emissaries and to provide for the Rebbe’s people – and as Rebbe Nachman stated, “With me, no one ever loses! In the place where I take, that’s the place where I give!”

I’d like to share with you that as you are reading these lines, I am in Uman – from today, Sunday, 1 Nissan, the Rebbe’s birthday, through Tuesday, with Hashem’s help. I will be happy to daven for you and to recite your names and requests at the Rebbe’s tziyun, and also afterward, in Eretz Hakokdesh.

Please, don’t delay! Give your generous gift so that we can help as many needy families of Breslov chassidim as possible. And in the merit of this special mitzvah, may you merit a kosher and joyful Pesach, with true happiness always, amen.
