“אָבִינוּ מַלְכֵּנוּ חָנֵּנוּ וַעֲנֵנוּ כִּי אֵין בָּנוּ מַעֲשִׂים; עֲשֵׂה עִמָּנוּ צְדָקָה וָחֶסֶד וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ”
The days of Elul mark the beginning of the days of mercy and the mitigation of harsh decrees.
The above statement from Avinu Malkeinu sums up our entreaty to Hashem.
We are living in especially challenging and confusing times, what with the wars, and all the horrific tragedies that are happening all around us, Hashem yerachem.
We must bear in mind that there is a way to sweeten all these harsh decrees.
In Likutey Moharan II 4, Rebbe Nachman teaches that giving charity cancels out the root of natural events, and then we can merit an outpouring of mercy from Hashem.
We won’t need to do any action to earn a livelihood because everything will come automatically.
By giving charity, every person works toward being able to serve Hashem without the difficulties of earning a livelihood.
(see video below)
We are currently launching a special campaign to create an outpouring of kindness in the world.
