Rav Shimshon Ostropoli explains that the Parsha starts with the word Bo – “come” to Pharoah when it is more grammatically correct to have said Lekh – “go” to Pharoah.

The point being that the letters Peh and Ayin (פ and ע) should be removed from Pharaoh’s name (פרעה), and replaced with the bet and aleph (בא), creating a new word – ארבה – the locusts.

Meaning, that if you (Pharaoh) don’t let the Jews go, then Hashem will make you into a locust.

The message here is that we must way carefully what we do in our lives, and realize that we are at fault for the difficult situations we face.

However, this is also on a good note – i.e. that the good things in life are also a result of what we decide to do with our lives.

The other 2 plagues mentioned in the Parshah – Darkness and the Firstborn Plague.

Darkness connotes fear of the unknown. A person is a afraid to change status-quo, but he must face the unknown in order to come to his potential.

Also when the Jews baked matzos, leaving to the desert with only matzos, relying only on Hashem. This is similar to the plague of darkness – to face the unknown.

The great wealth that the Jews left with, after demanding it from the their Egyptian neighbors, is a foretaste of the future Redemption when the Jews will also be redeemed with great wealth.

All the money and riches will be restored to the Jews after all the unfair taxes that the Jews had to put out for the nations.

We too can come out of our bondage of daily work and burdens, etc.
