In each generation, whenever redemption is near, Amalek tries to make the Jews despair by convincing us that our prayers are not effective because we are not deserving of a miracle.
But the truth is that we must strengthen ourselves and continue to pray with all our might, like Mordekhai HaYehudi did. Mordekhai saw that the decree against the Jews was signed. It seemed that the situation was hopeless; nevertheless, he didn’t give up.
