The 1768 pogrom (massacre) of Jews in Uman, Ukraine, occurred the 5th to 7th of Tammuz, when the Haidemaks led by Ivan Gonta, y”s, tried to force the Jews to convert to Christianity. Although they tortured men, women and even children, not one person agreed to convert, which was a great Kiddush Hashem. This is why Rebbe Nachman wanted to be buried in Uman, very near to the site of these holy martyrs.
