Rebbe Nachman of Breslov taught…

Reb Nosson wrote: “Every day and every moment, there are wonders upon wonders… Since G-d renews [the world] continually, there is a phenomenon by which everything changes into good. If you cannot see and understand this, at least believe in it. Again and again, strengthen yourself with this.”
(Healing Leaves, p. 50)

What does this mean to me?

Long before the advent of modern science, the great Arizal—Rabbi Yitzchak Luria—taught that the universe is constantly being renewed at its most elemental level from instant to instant. In our prayers we praise G-d who “renews, in His goodness, the works of creation every day, constantly.” We live in a universe that was created in the past and is being every recreated from moment to moment.

If this universe is in perpetual flux and change…why can’t I be too? Why am I so stuck sometimes? Because I am out of touch with the radical and rapid changes going on around me and within me all the time. If I “cannot see and understand this,” at least I should believe it and strengthen myself with the knowledge of its truth.

A prayer:

The Architect of the world
never does the same thing twice.
Every day is an entirely
new creation. Take as much as
you can from what each new
day has to offer.
