“Watering the Tree”: Tu B’Shvat at Breslov Research Institute Books

This Tu B’Shvat you be can partner with us in our special “Watering the Trees” Project by participating in our “Buy 2 Books and Get One Free!” sale…

In the third story of Rebbe Nachman’s Stories, The Cripple, the story begins: “Once there was a wise man. Before he died, he summoned his sons and his family and told them that they must water trees. ‘You may also earn a living in other ways, but you must especially be careful to water trees.’” Every person may also be considered like a tree, as it is written, “for a man is a tree of the field.” The inner message is that one must “irrigate” others by instilling in them the spirit of life. This is especially pertinent during these trying times, when everything seems so uncertain and gloomy.

Tu B’Shvat is the New Year of Trees, and it occurs when it is dark and wintery, when the trees are dry, and we don’t see any flowering or sprouting. But it is specifically at this time when Tu B’Shvat occurs, because it signifies the beginning of the inner process of sprouting which will culminate in bright green leaves covering the branches and magnificent fruits.

For those whose spiritual light is waning or distant, now is the time to take the initiative to water them and help them bloom, to help them find the inspiration they need so that they will feel spiritually invigorated and be able to produce wonderful fruits.

Tu B’Shvat is the birthday of Rebbe Natan. How fitting for him to be born on the day that hope spouts from the deepest darkness, for his whole life was dedicated to awakening others to the message that: “There is hope!”

This year you can partner with us in our special “Watering the Trees” Project by participating in our “Buy 2 Books and Get One Free!” sale.

Think of a book which literally enlivened you, that you really enjoyed, or which changed your life.

Think about everyone around you or those who are close to you who really need to be “watered,” by reading a book which will give them the Waters of Life.

You pay only for two books, and we will give you the third book as a gift (the least expensive of the three). In addition, you will still continue to enjoy the discounts that we already offer in our store.

Together we will water the trees this year and continue to spread the light of Rabbeinu and Rebbe Natan to the world with new vigor.

This project will be for one week only, from Wednesday, the night of Tu B’Shvat, until Thursday of the following week (January 27 – February 4).
You can also choose to pay for books and donate them, and we will distribute them to others for free. (Please specify when you place your order in the order notes.) To make your book order click here

May the light of Tu B’Shvat awaken us all to light, growth and prosperity in the coming year.
