Breslov Research Institute Mourns the Passing of Rebbetzin Chaya Rivka Zwolinski
With deep sadness and heartfelt sorrow, we share the news of the passing of Chaya Rivka Zwolinski, A”H, of Brooklyn, New York, who returned her pure soul to its Creator on Shabbat after a courageous battle with illness.
For many years, Chaya Rivka was a beloved and devoted member of the Breslov Research Institute family. Her passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of all who knew her, learned from her, and were inspired by her unwavering dedication to spreading the teachings of Rebbe Nachman.
Chaya Rivka first discovered Breslov and the Breslov Research Institute in the early 2010s. Like so many sincere seekers, she found in Rebbe Nachman’s teachings a source of hope, healing, joy, and purpose. The wisdom of Rebbe Nachman touched her deeply and transformed her life. Out of profound gratitude for what she had received, she dedicated herself to helping others discover that same light.
Blessed with exceptional writing talent, Chaya Rivka quickly became one of the most influential voices within the Breslov community. Her articles were insightful, heartfelt, and deeply relatable. She possessed a rare ability to present Rebbe Nachman’s teachings in a way that spoke directly to the challenges and struggles of modern life, especially for women seeking spiritual growth, meaning, and connection.
Through her writing, countless readers were introduced to the depth and beauty of Breslov. Yet her impact extended far beyond the written word. Chaya Rivka became a mentor, teacher, guide, and friend to many. She organized and led women’s journeys to Rebbe Nachman’s holy gravesite in Uman, helping participants develop a genuine and lasting connection to Rebbe Nachman and his teachings. Those who traveled with her often described the experience as life-changing.
As a trained therapist and skilled professional, Chaya Rivka possessed remarkable insight into the human soul. She uniquely combined her professional wisdom with the teachings of Rebbe Nachman, enabling her to reach people on a profound level. She understood both the emotional and spiritual struggles that individuals face and knew how to offer guidance, encouragement, and hope.
She was also among the driving forces behind Breslov Campus, an innovative educational initiative that brought Rebbe Nachman’s teachings to students around the world. Through her classes, lectures, and personal interactions, she inspired many to deepen their relationship with HaShem and to live with greater faith, joy, and purpose. The success of Breslov Campus bore witness to her dedication and vision, touching countless lives before the challenges of the COVID era brought the project to a halt.
In addition to her articles and teaching, Chaya Rivka authored several books inspired by Rebbe Nachman’s teachings. These works continue to guide and inspire readers, serving as a lasting testament to her passion for sharing the wisdom that transformed her own life.
Although Chaya Rivka did not leave behind children of her own, she leaves behind something equally precious: generations of students, readers, and seekers whose lives were changed because of her. The countless individuals she brought closer to Rebbe Nachman are her living legacy. They are the spiritual children nurtured through her dedication, compassion, wisdom, and faith.
The Breslov world, and indeed the broader Jewish world, has lost a precious soul. We already feel her absence. Yet the light she kindled continues to shine through the many lives she touched and through the teachings she so faithfully shared.
May her soul find eternal peace and elevation. May the merit of Rebbe Nachman, whose teachings she loved so dearly and dedicated her life to spreading, stand by her forever. And may all the good she accomplished in this world continue to advocate for her in the Heavenly realms.
May her memory be a blessing, and may her legacy continue to inspire generations to come.
Yehi Zichrah Baruch – May Her Memory Be Blessed.
