This week on BreslovCampus, Meir Elkabas discusses the Torah portion, Parshat Vayelech, with insights from Rebbe Nachman of Breslov.
In Part 1, Reb Meir begins with lesson 6 in Likutey Moharan and how this relates to the parsha, which refers to the relationship of Moses and Joshua. How does the Tzaddik (a Rebbe) connect to his talmid (disciple)? How does a Rebbe pass down light and knowledge to his talmid?
He continues in Part 2 and discusses how the disciple can take the light given to him and transmit it to the people. This was the case with Moshe and Yehoshua, Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and Rabbi Abba, the Arizal and Chaim Vital, the Baal Shem Tov and the Maggid of Mezritch, and Rebbe Nachman and Reb Noson. Reb Meir then explains the concept of the Ohel Moed, the Tent of Meeting, which is associated with shame and embarrassment. The true disciple must endure insults and being humiliated in order to absorb and transmit truth.
