Hashem is King of Everything, but each of us is the ruler of our own dominion. Rebbe Nachman of Breslov teaches that when we use our own malchut properly, we are trusted and relied on. When we abuse our power, we inevitably crash and burn. Our personal Malchut is ineffectual unless we learn, understand, and apply Torah in our lives.
Rebbe Nachman directed us to learn from many Torah sources. Rav Levi Yitzchak Bender said that we should follow what Rebbe Nachman of Breslov told us and in addition to learning Breslov Chassidut, we should learn the pshat, the straightforward teachings of the Torah (Torah law, gemara, etc.). We should have a consistency in learning and service of Hashem.
