For those of you who keep up with the Pathways weekly articles, I was very privileged to have been able to travel to Eretz Yisrael for Lag B’Omer.
I find it difficult to express how incredible the trip was, and how fortunate I am to have been able to participate. Being away from the Holy Land for Lag B’Omer is like losing out on a precious Yom Tov. The entire country is ripe with excitement on this great day, bonfires can be seen on nearly every block and music is blasted throughout the cities.
An estimated 500,000 people make their way up north to Meron from all over the country. One of the highlights was the dancing and bonfire at the Toldos Aharon camp in Meron. Here are a few clips. I hope that you enjoy them and get a sense of the energy.
Rebbe Shimon Bar Yochai said that through his book (the Zohar) the Jewish People will be redeemed. This is true of our nation and also of every individual. As followers of Rebbe Nachman, we know that the Zohar is the launching pad for Rebbe Nachman’s Likutey Moharan and thus, the continuation of this promise and mission. In Meron, one can witness the great emunah being expressed in these Tzadikim and in their holy work.
Here is a picture of the beautiful scenery surrounding Meron. Sprinkled around the mountains, one could see tens of people making Hitbodedut.
So next year, wont you join me?
